November 10, 2010 - 11:15 a.m. - So the name is decided...  "Grady Jeremiah Smith."  I am the fourth generation of Grady Smith's, so we decided to keep that tradition.  Welcome the 5th Grady Smith :-)  We picked Jeremiah as a middle name for the obvious Biblical connections.  We'll write more later about why we chose that name, but we are drawn to Jeremiah because of his love for God's people, and yet willingness to speak the truth that they needed to hear as they sought to live in an evil age.

Thank you for your prayers for us and for the "little guy" (Grady Jeremiah).  Here are a few updates...  He is off of oxygen and off of the bright lights for jaundice.  He is still digesting some of the breast milk they are giving him!  The doctors seem pleased with his progress.

Also, thank you for praying for our accommodations.  A room opened up at the Ronald McDonald house (see the picture to the left) the very hour we needed it.   We are literally one block away from where Little Grady is being cared for.  It is less than a five minute walk for us.  What a blessing!  It takes longer to park in the hospital deck and walk to his room than it does for us to walk from our lodging to his room.  Thank you for praying for that request as well.

Pray for Julia today.  I will be traveling back to Auburn today for some work responsibilities tonight and to get things together that we need for our extended stay here in Birmingham.

We will keep you posted!  Again, thank you for your prayers and encouragement!
